Good quality mattresses used to be expensive. It’s not so anymore. You can find high-quality mattresses online for half to even a third the price in brick and mortar stores.
There is no reason to buy a mattress that has been used.
The price of new mattresses has dropped, but many sellers offer easy financing options through Affirm and Klarna. These services allow you to pay for your mattress in smaller amounts than if you were to pay the entire amount.

Until you start sleeping on the mattress, they won’t be obvious.
It is not easy to get rid of bed bugs from a mattress. It is not worth the effort.
These creatures are why it is a good idea not to use upholstered furniture.

Pictures can reveal a lot. However, they might not tell you the entire story.
It is dangerous to buy a mattress online because it is impossible to tell if there are any internal damages from the photos. It will be too late to see if the springs have broken or the mattress is sagging on one side.
You may not be able to see the damage, even if you have the opportunity to inspect it in person before purchasing. It will only be a matter of time before you realize how much it has affected your back.
It is not worth it.
Your health, mental well-being and productivity depend on your sleep. Good sleep requires a high quality mattress. A new mattress of good quality is an investment that will pay off in many ways.
3. No Warranty And A Short Life Expectancy
I have yet to find a mattress maker that permits a transfer of warranty, unlike cars. Only the original purchaser is covered.
You are left with a mattress that has been used and is less durable than new. There is no warranty.
This compares to a brand-new mattress that is as comfortable as a pillow and lasts 10-15 years. It also comes with a 10-year warranty. Many online mattress companies offer lifetime warranties.

What will you do if your mattress proves to be unbearable? Perhaps it is too soft to support your hips or too firm to keep you comfortable.
You can either live with it, or buy a mattress pad. You can request a refund even if the mattress is visible damaged.
Online mattresses are available with a 100-night trial period, while other companies allow you to test the mattress for up to a year.
You can return it for free if you don’t like it. There are no questions and there are no risks.
5. 5. The Icky Factor
The mattress can get really filthy. It is the most dirty object in the bedroom.
A mattress that is used will have pounds of dust, mites, pet hair and bacteria.
This is not to mention any weird stains or rotten food that may have found a home under the mattress.
It’s not about feeling ashamed. This could have a negative impact on your health. Imagine spending hours on the bed and inhaling all that stuff, then putting your skin in direct contact with it.

- You can choose to buy a used or lightly-used mattress.
- You can find reputable retailers that will refurbish and sanitize your mattress before you sell it. A label may be added to indicate the condition of your mattress.
- Before you move the mattress into your home, make sure you inspect it for any signs of bedbugs. Use a waterproof and bedbug-proof mattress cover to keep your home safe.
- Before you use a mattress that isn’t in good condition, make sure it is cleaned thoroughly. Use an antibacterial household cleaner and let the mattress dry in the sun for at most one day.
